DeepOcean has completed subsea construction and tie-in operations at the Teal West development, an offshore oil and gas project in the central North Sea on the UK Continental Shelf.
The work was carried out for Anasuria Operating and involved connecting the Teal West field to the existing Anasuria floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility.
The scope of work undertaken by DeepOcean included installing a flexible production riser, flowline and umbilical linking the FPSO with the Teal West subsea Christmas tree.
Protection measures for the flowline and umbilical, as well as commissioning of the new subsea infrastructure, also formed part of the contract.
Engineering and project management were led from DeepOcean’s Aberdeen office in Scotland.
Offshore operations took place in phases, with subsea construction and tie-in completed before commissioning was carried out using two offshore construction vessels from DeepOcean’s chartered fleet.
The operation relied on a remotely operated vehicle paired with proprietary tooling to replace the need for divers.
DeepOcean’s dedicated tie-in tool enabled diverless connections for high-pressure flanges, allowing pipes and valves to be connected via subsea robotics.
The Teal West field, located in Block 21/24d at a water depth of 90m and around 180km east of Aberdeen, is being developed as a subsea tieback project by Hibiscus Petroleum through its subsidiary Anasuria Hibiscus.
According to the field development plan, there will be two production wells and a water injection well, with the initial phase connecting one production well to the FPSO via approximately 3km of subsea flowlines.

The field development plan and the environmental statement were submitted to the North Sea Transition Authority and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s Offshore Petroleum Regulator Environment and Decommissioning body in August 2022.
In June 2026, DeepOcean signed an agreement with bp to handle the decommissioning and recycling of subsea equipment at the Foinaven field offshore the Shetland Islands in the UK.
