TechnipFMC has secured a contract from Petrobras for subsea production systems following a competitive bidding process.

The award has been termed by TechnipFMC as ‘significant’, which it defines as carrying a value between $75m (£55.66m) and $250m.

The contract includes the design, engineering and manufacturing of subsea production systems.

These systems will be deployed across greenfield projects, brownfield expansions and asset revitalisations within Petrobras’ portfolio.

The scope of work also encompasses installation support and life-of-field services, with provisions for further equipment and services.

All subsea systems under the contract will be made and maintained in Brazil.

TechnipFMC subsea president Jonathan Landes said: “Leveraging our industrialised operating model, we can standardise innovative solutions and deliver the schedule certainty that Petrobras expects on its projects. We look forward to creating new value together as we build on our decades-long relationship as a trusted local partner.”

This contract comes after TechnipFMC secured a ‘significant’ contract from Equinor in July for the Heidrun extension project in the Norwegian North Sea.

The Heidrun field is situated roughly 175km off the coast of mid-Norway at a depth of around 350m. It is known for its floating concrete tension-leg platform, said to be the largest of its kind in the world.

During the same month, Vår Energi entered a collaboration with TechnipFMC for the delivery of subsea projects in the North Sea, leveraging an integrated commercial model.

Earlier this month, Petrobras acquired a 27.5% stake in Block 4 in São Tomé and Príncipe, Africa.

With this acquisition, Petrobras joins a consortium that includes Shell, the operator with a 30% stake, Galp with 27.5% and ANP-STP holding the remaining 15%.
