GlobalData’s latest report, ‘H1 2017 Oil Tanker, LNG Carrier, and LPG Tanker Outlook – Eletson to Add Most Planned LPG Tanker Storage Capacity’, suggests that Eletson Corporation and KSS Line Ltd. lead in terms of planned LPG tanker storage capacity additions among operators, with 620,000m3 and 328,000m3, respectively.
GlobalData’s equipment research shows that globally, around 333 tankers and carriers have been planned to start operations during the 2017–2021 period. Of these, 131 are crude oil tankers, 115 are LNG carriers, and 87 are LPG tankers. About 23 tankers and carriers have been announced globally in H1 2017, of which 11 are crude tankers, eight are LNG carriers and four are LPG tankers.
National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia and Maran Tankers Management Inc. are the top operators globally, in terms of DWT of planned crude tanker additions in the next four years, while Teekay LNG Partners L.P. and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. lead in terms of LNG carrier storage capacity additions.
