Oil and gas contract activity in November 2016 was concentrated in the upstream sector in the EMEA region, according to a report by GlobalData.
Entitled Monthly Oil & Gas Industry Contracts Review – Saipem’s EPIC Contracts for Field Development Drive Award Activity in EMEA Region, the report provides details of the oil and gas contract activity in the EMEA region for the month of November.

The biggest contracts awarded in the month were two deals from Saudi Aramco worth $1bn for Saipem for the engineering, procurement, installation and construction work for subsea systems and other infrastructure on the Marjan, Zuluf and Safaniya fields in the Arabian Gulf.
The top contractor between December 2015 and November 2016 was Hyundai Engineering & Construction with contracts totalling $5.86bn in value, followed by Transocean with contracts with $4.13bn. The top issuer during the period was Gazprom with contracts totalling $7.54bn, followed by Statoil with $5.44bn.
In terms of the type of contracts issued during the period, operation and maintenance represented 61% of those awarded contracts; this was followed by contracts with multiple scopes, which accounted for 15%.
