Samsung Engineering will perform the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for Saudi Aramco’s Shaybah natural gas liquids (NGL) programme.

Work under four lump sum turnkey (LSTK) contracts includes construction of the inlet facilities, NGL recovery trains, dehydration, residue gas compression, acid gas compression, and NGL storage and shipping.

Samsung will also upgrade the gas handling capacity of the four existing Shaybah gas oil separation plants (GOSPs) and other associated facilities.

The firm is also building a grassroots natural gas liquid (NGL) recovery plant at the Shaybah field in Rub’ al-Khali.

The facilities will extract the NGL components from the 2,400 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of Shaybah-associated gas arriving from various existing GOSPs.
