Bahrain National Gas Company has awarded a contract to Foster Wheeler to conduct a feasibility study for its liquefied petroleum gas projects, which are set for expansion.
The expansion will increase the gas throughput of the plant to reach 285 million standard cubic feet per day of associated gas and 18ft³ per day of refinery off-gas by 2014.
Foster Wheeler will develop various options to modify and expand the facilities in line with the new throughput objectives.
The firm will then conduct a techno-economic evaluation to select the preferred option for implementation.
The study will be completed in the third quarter of this year.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
