Pertamina Gas, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina plans to build a 140km gas pipeline between Cirebon and Muara Karang in Jakarta, India.

The pipeline network will be divided into two sections — a 90km pipeline between Cirebon and Kandanghaur and a 50km pipeline between Tegal Gede and Muara Tawar.

Pertamina Gas director for planning, development and sales Harjana Kordiat said told reporters in the area that the company is conducting a feasibility study to evaluate the technical and commercial aspects of the network.

The company will invest around $200m with funding to be arranged through internal accruals and loans from financial institutions, reports the Jakarta Post.

The pipeline will obtain gas from a LNG receiving terminal in Central Java to be constructed by Pertamina.
