American Petro-Hunter has started drilling operations for the second horizontal oil well at the North Oklahoma Mississippi project in the US.
The NOW-2H well is a direct offset to the NOM-1H well, and will involve a similar lateral drilling operation into the recently discovered Mississippi reservoir.
The firm has bought full working interest participation in 11 additional horizontal wells within the play.
The planned development programme will include drilling one horizontal Mississippi formation well every 30 to 60 days.
Site arrangements are underway, including permitting and requisite documentation in advance of spudding the NOW-2H well.
