The rise in the cost of naphtha and high demand for ethylene derivatives in August led September ethylene contracts in Europe to rise by €80 a ton, according to the International Construction Information Society.
The month’s deals, which saw the fifth price hike this year, ended assenting at €875 a ton.
European monthly ethylene contract prices have increased 35% in 2009.
