Chinese company Sinopec plans to start its $3.66bn (¥25bn) petrochemical complex in eastern China’s Zhejiang province next year, it has been announced.
The complex will produce 1 million t/y of ethylene, reported Reuters.
The petrochemical plant will be linked with the country’s biggest refinery in Zhenhai, which has a primary crude run capacity of 440,000bpd.
Sinopec plans to double the Zhenhai refinery’s capacity to 2 million t/y, which will make it one of the biggest in the world.
