India’s Andhra Petrochemicals said it is implementing a modernisation-cum-optimisation programme at its oxo-alcohols facility to enhance its production capacity.

The modernisation programme will enhance the capacity of the plant from 39,000 million t/y to 73,000 million t/y, the company said in a statement.

The programme involves the integration of new facilities with the existing facilities, which requires the plant to be closed for two months, the company said.

The plant is scheduled to be shut down from 11 November 2009, the company said.
