Bridge Resources and Paramax Resources have started drilling the first of five exploratory wells in the Boise Basin, Idaho, USA.
Bridge-Paramax ML Investments-1 well has a planned total depth of 7,000ft with an estimated drilling time of 25 days. The five wells will be drilled in four months at a total cost of $5m.
Bridge-Paramax is targeting two potential gas sands down to 4,000ft, which flowed gas at rates up to 400mcfd in old wells along with potential oil sands targets at a depth of 5,000-7,000ft.
The five prospects are in Payette County, Idaho, in the agricultural flat plain of the Snake River with alluvial fill masking the subsurface geological structure.
The Boise area has a 35bcf per year gas demand that is presently met by out-of-state supply.
