ConocoPhillips and Karoon Gas Australia will conduct production tests at the Kronos-1 pay sands in the Browse basin in Western Australia.
ConocoPhillips, operator of the WA-398-P well, will work on the discovery following completion of coring and a full suite of wireline logs, including pressure measurements, in the well.
The well was drilled from 5,249mRT to a total depth of 5,329mRT and currently a 4.5in liner is being installed for a production test.
Kronos-1 is located on a high block in the south-western part of the greater Poseidon trend, 15km from the Poseidon-1 well and is the third well on the greater Poseidon trend.
