Williston Basin Interstate Pipeline Company plans to expand its natural gas pipeline capacity in the Bakken production area in North Dakota, US.
The 33% increase in capacity will add up to 30 million cubic feet per day to existing volumes from the Bakken production area for delivery to the Northern Border Pipeline.
Williston will add facilities to an existing compressor station in northwest North Dakota to increase the capacity of the lines.
The expansion is due to be complete in November 2011.
At present, Williston Basin transports approximately 90 million cubic feet per day of natural gas through its existing natural gas pipeline system throughout the Bakken production area in western North Dakota and eastern Montana.
