Petronas is planning to expand its Malacca refinery in Malaysia.

Petronas Corporate Strategic Planning vice president Md Arif Mahmood said that the company was undertaking a feasibility study, which is expected to be completed this year, with the firm planning to increase the plant’s capacity by another 20,000bpd, according to bernama.com.

The Malacca refining facility, which is known as PSR-1, is owned and operated by Petronas subsidiary Petronas Penapisan (Melaka).

Operational since 1994, PSR-1 has a processing capacity of 100,000bpd of sweet crude and condensates.
