Russia’s Gazprom and Greek company DESFA have signed a charter to form a joint venture to work on the Greek section of the South Stream project.
The South Stream Greece venture covers engineering, funding, construction and operation of the pipeline on the territory of Greece.
To complete the onshore section of the project outside Russia, agreements were signed by Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia and Austria.
The offshore section is to be laid under the Black Sea running across an 900km area from the main compressor station Russkaya in Russia to the Bulgarian coast, with an annual capacity of up to 63 billion cubic metres.
