Valiant Petroleum said it has successfully drilled and tested the second Tybalt exploration well in the UK.
The well had a peak rate flow of 5,400bopd and 4mscfd on a 56 / 64in choke, representing a combined rate of over 6,000boepd.
The well later delivered a stabilised average rate of 4,600bopd and 3.3mscfd over an 11-hour flow period, and tests confirmed a light crude with an API of 38-40°.
Valiant has begun integrating an extensive dataset on Tybalt including the well test and pressure data.
According to the firm’s updated understanding, the current well is not ideally placed to evaluate the full extent of the discovery and has been suspended for future use as an appraisal well.
