El Paso Corporation has completed drilling at three Eagle Ford test wells in the US and has announced plans for future expansion.

The company said all three wells have performed to or above expectations.

The firm has drilled two of the wells in the gas condensate area of the trend and one in the dry gas area.

The Hixon 4H well in Texas, which was drilled to a vertical depth of about 9,900ft, tested at an average rate of 2.1 million cubic feet of natural gas per day and 765 barrels per day of 53.5api gravity condensate.

The Hixon 2H well, also spudded to a depth of 9,900ft, tested at an average rate of 1.6mcf per day and 584bpd of 53.5api gravity condensate.

The Nunley Traylor 1H well tested at an average rate of 6.4mcf per day at a vertical depth of about 12,600ft.

The firm plans to complete one more well in the dry gas area of the trend to better appraise its leasehold and then maintain two rigs in the gas condensate area for the remainder of the year.

El Paso holds about 165,000 net acres in the Eagle Ford Shale including 100,000 net acres in the liquids-rich area north of the dry gas window.
