Qatargas has delivered its first Q-Max cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Chubu Electric’s Chita Terminal in Japan.
The firm deployed one of its Q-Max LNG carriers, Mozah, for the delivery, which is capable of delivering 266,000m² of LNG during a single voyage.
Qatargas CEO Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani said that Qatar is on track for reaching its goal of 77 million tonnes of LNG production capacity by the end of this year, strengthening its position as the world’s leading LNG supplier.
“With our expansion projects and the added use of the Q-Max carriers, we will be able to deliver more LNG to Chubu Electric more efficiently,” Al-Thani said.
