Enterprise Products Partners will work in collaboration with Enbridge to design, construct and operate a new pipeline to transport crude oil from Cushing, Oklahoma, to the Texas Gulf Coast refining complex, in the US.

The new 36in Wrangler pipeline will have an initial capacity to transport up to 800,000 barrels of crude oil per day and accommodate the constrained medium-to-light crude oil currently stranded at Cushing.

Starting at Enbridge Cushing Terminal, the pipeline will extend 500m south to Enterprise’s ECHO crude oil storage terminal in south-east Harris County, Texas.

New storage tankage necessary for pipeline operations will be located at the ECHO site.

The pipeline is designed to be easily expanded so that it is able handle additional supplies of crude oil arriving at Cushing from other North American producers.

The project will also include a new 137km pipeline to the Beaumont / Port Arthur refining centre.
