UK-based oilfield services company Expro has secured new contracts from India’s Oil and Natural Gas (ONGC).

Under the contracts worth more than $17m, Expro will carry out work on ONGC’s assets throughout western and eastern areas of India, including onshore Rajamundry, and Krishna Godavari basin and offshore Mumbai for more than three years.

The company will provide 15K and 10K surface well testing packages for high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT) and conventional wells in addition to offering support from its facilities in-country.

Two sets of 15K packages will be delivered for ten offshore and 22 onshore wells in eastern India, while four sets of 10K packages are planned for delivery to offshore Mumbai.

"This is a significant award for Expro as we reinforce our commitment to the region with our Mumbai and Kakinada facilities geared up and ready to support this contract."

Expro will also provide a well test supervisor and operator on a call-out basis.

Production testing of exploratory wells can be done through the 10K packages, which will also be used for testing, flow back and measurement of worked-over and platform wells.

This package will be deployed for testing of exploratory and completed wells onshore at Rajahmundry, a major city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Expro Asia president Keith Palmer said: “We are delighted to have been selected by ONGC as the number one provider of surface well testing services for HPHT wells across its Indian assets.
