UK-based oil and gas exploration and production company Heritage Oil has acquired a 51% interest in Libya-based Sahara Oil Services for $19.5m.
Heritage said that Sahara Oil has long-term permits and licences to provide onshore and offshore oilfield services in Libya, as well as the rights to own and operate oil and gas licences.
The acquisition allows the company to explore ways to gain access to key producing fields and other licence opportunities in Libya.
