KBR has secured a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to Monroe Energy’s gasoline project at the company’s refinery in Trainer, Pennsylvania, US.

Under the deal, KBR will execute EPC services at the Tier 3 Ultra-Low-Sulfur Gasoline (ULSG) project to relocate and reconstruct an idle SCANfining unit from another facility to Monroe’s refinery.

The unit will have a capacity of 60,000 barrels-per-day (bpd).

Work on the project is expected to be completed and planned for start-up next year.

Monroe’s Trainer refinery has a capacity of 185,000 barrel-per-day and is optimised for jet fuel production. It also produces other products such as gasoline, diesel, as well as home heating oil.

Monroe Interstate Pipeline Company (MIPC), the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary owns and operates a storage and distribution network that includes 51.25 miles of pipeline and 2,781,950 barrels tankage capacity.
