Wood Group has secured a contract valued at approximately $700m to provide services for Tengizchevroil’s Future Growth Project-Wellhead Pressure Management project at the Tengiz field located in Kazakhstan.

As part of the contract, the company will provide main automation contractor (MAC) services for the project.

Optimal integrated process and safety solutions will be provided by Wood Group’s automation and control business.

Wood Group has been providing support to the project since 2013.

Tengiz covers a 2,500km² project license area, including a smaller Korolev field and various exploratory prospects.

The field was discovered in 1979 and developed by the Tengizchevroil consortium.

Partners in the field consist of Chevron (50%), Exxon Mobil (25%), the Kazakhstan government through Kazakhstan Petroleum (20%) and Lukoil (5%).
