OCTOMAR Serviços Marítimos - Offshore Diving and Marine Support Services

OCTOMAR Serviços Marítimos is an Angolan marine services and IMCA-recognised diving company. OCTOMAR is a joint venture agreement between SMIT and Marsub.

Offshore terminal and subsea support services

The joint venture has allowed OCTOMAR to provide a variety of terminal and subsea services and resources to support the offshore oil industry in Angola since 1998. We offer integrated marine services, which includes tugs and AHTS to support the (un)berthing of oil tankers offshore / inshore and diving for the maintenance of SBM buoys and offshore / inshore installations (deep and shallow water).

Other services provided include:

• Offshore oilfield exploration, construction and production support
• Operation and maintenance of offshore tanker terminals
• Marine FPSO support (including mooring / berthing services, pilotage, etc.)
• Underwater operations and IRM (i.e. pipeline inspections, etc.)
• Marine contracting support
• Remotely operated vehicles (ROV)
• Air diving, mixed gas diving, saturation diving (IMCA certified)
• Dive support vessels (DSV)
• Hull and U-wild inspections (including in-country ACFM equipment)
• Salvage (equipment support only)

Offshore diving services

Qualified, local Angolan personnel and certified equipment, backed up by a core of resident on-site expatriate personnel, places OCTOMAR in a position to respond to almost any offshore diving requirement at short notice. This, together with the international experience of SMIT, places OCTOMAR in an excellent position for both short and long-term projects.

OCTOMAR has extensive experience in establishing and progressing localisation programmes and employs a high percentage of local content throughout all of its operations.

IMCA-certified diving services

OCTOMAR is IMCA-certified, always works with IMCA-certified personnel and has classification certificates from the following bureaus:

• Bureau Veritas (BV)
• Germanischer Lloyd (GL)
• American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
• Det Norske Veritas (DNV)
