February 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.15% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.6% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering an increase of 0.08% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 51.88% in February 2022, a 3.91% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 16.67% in February 2022, marking a 14.46% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 15.96% in February 2022, a 4.62% rise from January 2022.

Top five oil & gas companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 9.17% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s oil & gas industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Henkel AGKGaA posted 41 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 46.43% over the previous month, followed by BASF with 26 jobs and a 7.14% drop. MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas with 22 IT jobs and Baker Hughes with 21 jobs, recorded a 37.5% rise and a 34.38% drop, respectively, while Master Builders Solutions Deutschland recorded a 31.25% increase with 21 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s oil & gas industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 23.94% share in February 2022, a 7.27% decrease over January 2022. The UK featured next with a 17.61% share, down 11.76% over the previous month. Hungary recorded a 9.62% share, a growth of 36.67% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.84%, up by 4.71% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 17.61% share, registered a growth of 25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 13.38% share, down 36.67% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.17%, recording a month-on-month growth of 150%.
