1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.56% in March 2022, registering a 12.82% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 27.96% share, an increase of 23.81% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 18.28%, registering a 54.55% rise from February 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 10.75%, up 100% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 50% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s oil & gas industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Shell posted 21 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 162.5% over the previous month, followed by BP with 14 jobs and a 16.67% growth. LyondellBasell Industries with 13 IT jobs and Baker Hughes with 10 jobs, recorded an 18.18% growth and a 150% growth, respectively, while John Wood Group recorded a decline of 11.11% with 8 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.67%, up by 14.81% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.43% share, registered an increase of 58.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.68% share, down 30.77% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 3.23%, recording a month-on-month decline of 25%.
