Rosneft has signed an agreement with RusHydro Group to deliver oil and gas products to energy facilities in the Far East Federal District of Russia.

The aim of the agreement is to develop a collaboration and business partnership to increase energy security and the consistency of energy supplies in the district.

It will also help to restrict increase in tariffs and support energy generating capacities in the region.

As part of the agreement, both the companies will work jointly to expand their existing collaboration in the supply of natural gas and oil products in the region.

Both the companies will consider a plan to supply gas to the energy facilities of RusHydro Group companies.

The plan is part of the programme to create a unified system for the production and transportation of gas, and gas supplies in Eastern Siberia and the Far East.

It also includes the possibility of exporting gas to China and other Asia-Pacific Nations.

As part of the deal, the collaborating companies plans to set up gas production centres in the Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Primorsky, Kamchatka, Irkutsk and Sakhalin regions and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The agreement was signed by Rosneft president and chairman of the board Igor Sechin, RusHydro chairman of the board Evgeny Dod, and chairman of the board of directors at RAO Energy Systems..
