Foster Wheeler has received a front end engineering design (FEED) contract from Star Petroleum Refining (SPRC) for the residue fluidised catalytic cracking unit (RFCCU) revamp turnaround and inspection project at its refinery at Map Ta Phut in Thailand.
The aim of the project is improve on-stream reliability by revamping the RFCCU, along with environmental and performance improvements.

Foster Wheeler will also work with SPRC to evaluate the existing RFCCU maintenance and reliability philosophies with a view to identifying any changes that may be needed in the future to retain the continuous improvement of on-stream performance.
The contract is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2012.
