CNOOC has received delivery of the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipment from Indonesia in the southern area of Fujian province.
Under a 25-year contract signed by CNOOC and Indonesia, the company will get 2.6m tons of LNG from Tangguh project in Papua province each year.

The Fujian terminal of CNOOC obtained the first cargo of LNG, weighing about 69,000t, from Indonesia’s Bontang LNG project as the commencement of operations at the Tangguh project was postponed.
The Fujian terminal will obtain another 15 consignments of LNG in the first contract year beginning.
CNOOC’s Shanghai terminal also intends to obtain 3.03 million tons of LNG from Malaysia. In addition, more terminals will be built to store LNG along the nation’s eastern cost in cities such as Ningbo city, Zhejiang province and Zhuhai city, Guangdong province.
