GlobalData’s latest report, ‘Europe, North America and Former Soviet Union (FSU) Gas Processing Industry Installed Capacity and Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Forecast by Region and Countries including details of All Active Plants, Planned and Announced Projects, 2022-2026,’ says that as of September 2022, the Former Soviet Union (FSU) had 115 active gas processing plants with a total gas processing capacity of 85,087MMcfd. The region’s share of the global gas processing capacity is 13.8%.
Major active gas processing plants of the FSU are Zapolyarnoye (Russia), Bovanenkovskoye (Russia) and Kazatchiya (Russia).
In the FSU, as of September 2022, Russia dominates with an active gas processing capacity of 63,313MMcfd. Zapolyarnoye, Bovanenkovskoye and Kazatchiya are the major active gas processing plants in the country.
Uzbekistan is the second-highest country, with an active gas processing capacity of 7,142MMcfd. Mubarek I, Shurtan and Kandym are the major active gas processing plants in the country.
Kazakhstan follows next with an active gas processing capacity of 5,073MMcfd. Karachaganak, Tengiz and Zhanazhol GPP-3 are the three active gas processing plants in the country.
