GlobalData’s latest report, “Middle East Midstream New-Build and Expansion Projects Outlook, 2021-2025,” indicates that 124 upcoming midstream projects are expected to start operations during the 2021 to 2025 outlook period. Of these, 112 represent new build projects and 12 are expansions of existing projects.

The trunk/transmission pipelines segment is expected to witness the start of operations of the highest number of projects in the region (54) during the 2021 to 2025 period. Liquid storage and gas processing segments follow with 28 and 27 projects, respectively.

In the Middle East, the highest number of upcoming projects are in the construction stage (66), followed by feasibility and FEED stages with 19 and 14 projects, respectively.

Among the midstream projects, pipelines, liquids storage, gas processing, gas storage and LNG liquefaction projects have the highest number of projects in the construction stage and are expected to start operations by 2025.
