July 2021 has seen an increase of 5.45% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 7.57% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering decrease of 0.28% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 57.51% in July 2021, an 18.84% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 13.66% in July 2021, marking a 4.26% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 9.26% in July 2021, a 125.93% growth from June 2021.

Top five oil & gas companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 2.54% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Reliance Industries posted 108 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a decline of 15.63% over the previous month, followed by Royal Dutch Shell with 66 jobs and a 21.43% drop. Exxon Mobil with 65 IT jobs and TotalEnergies with 54 jobs, recorded a 20.73% decline and an 116% increase, respectively, while Baker Hughes Holdings recorded a 47.22% an increase with 53 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 62.22% share in July 2021, a 14.41% decline over June 2021. Philippines featured next with a 10.93% share, up 71.43% over the previous month. China recorded an 8.04% share, a drop of 1.85% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.65%, down by 0.65% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.85% share, a decline of 20.44% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.35% share, down 26.67% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.15%, recording a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
