US-based company Baker Hughes Holdings IT hiring rose 1.0% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 0.27% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 13.6% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 0.92% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Baker Hughes Holdings IT hiring in August 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Baker Hughes Holdings, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 80.53% in August 2021, and a 15.19% rise over July 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 12.39% in August 2021, and registered growth of 100%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 3.54% in August 2021, a 33.33% rise from July 2021.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Baker Hughes Holdings
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in August 2021 with a 61.06% share, which marked an 11.29% rise over the previous month.
North America stood next with 22.12%, registering a 19.05% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 10.62% share and a 20% drop over July 2021.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 4.42% and a month-on-month increase of 400%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.77%, registering a 60% drop over the previous month.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 55.75% share in August 2021, a 21.15% growth over July 2021. US featured next with an 18.58% share, up 10.53% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 4.42% share, an increase of 150% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead Baker Hughes Holdings IT hiring activity in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.11%, up by 7.5% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.24% share, a growth of 26.32% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.65% share, flat growth over July 2021.
