Germany-based company BASF’s IT hiring declined 1.3% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 5.74% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 5.71% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 0.15% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BASF IT hiring in August 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by BASF, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 67.35% in August 2021, and a 19.51% drop over July 2021, while Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a share of 12.24% in August 2021, and registered growth of 20%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.2% in August 2021, a 54.55% drop from July 2021.

Europe drives IT hiring at BASF

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in August 2021 with a 69.39% share, which marked a 17.24% rise over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 16.33%, registering a 61.9% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 14.29% share and a 41.67% drop over July 2021.

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 69.39% share in August 2021, a 21.43% growth over July 2021. US featured next with a 12.24% share, down 45.45% over the previous month. Malaysia recorded a 6.12% share, a decline of 82.35% compared with July 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead BASF IT hiring activity in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.51%, down by 17.78% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 14.29% share, a growth of 16.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10.2% share, down 54.55% over July 2021.
