Brazil oil & gas industry registered a 12.0% decline in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.71% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 15.07% share in July 2021, recording decrease of 3.9% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Brazil oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.87% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil oil & gas industry in July 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 65.96% in July 2021, an 18.42% drop over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed an 8.51% share, an increase of 700% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 8.51%, registering a 42.86% decline from June 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 8.51%, down 11.11% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Brazil IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 15.09% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil oil & gas industry during July 2021 over June 2021.

Exxon Mobil posted 81 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a drop of 21.36% over the previous month, followed by Galp Energia SGPS with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Petrobras Distribuidora with 1 IT jobs and TotalEnergies with 1 jobs, recorded a 66.67% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Elkem recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 85.11%, down by 13.98% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.77% share, a decline of 20% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 2.13% share, down 33.33% over June 2021.
