China oil & gas industry registered a 10.2% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 3.59% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.97% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China oil & gas industry in June 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 69.39% in June 2021, a 47.83% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.33% share, an increase of 100% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 6.12%, registering a 25% decline from May 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4.08%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in China IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 61.9% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China oil & gas industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

Yara International posted 11 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 120% over the previous month, followed by Exxon Mobil with 8 jobs and a 33.33% growth. BASF with 6 IT jobs and Baker Hughes Holdings with 5 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a 25% increase, respectively, while Air Products and Chemicals recorded a 33.33% an increase with 4 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.43%, up by 40% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.45% share, a growth of 57.14% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.12% share, down 25% over May 2021.
