Germany’s oil & gas industry registered an 11.3% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.94% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.42% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.21% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Germany’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.87% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s oil & gas industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.19% in August 2021, registering a 15.25% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 14.89% share, an increase of 40% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.77%, registering a 33.33% rise from July 2021.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.57%, up 12.5% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 11.24% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s oil & gas industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
BASF posted 34 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 21.43% over the previous month, followed by Evonik Industries with 18 jobs and a 50% growth. Yara International with 15 IT jobs and Henkel AGKGaA with 8 jobs, recorded an 11.76% decline and a 74.19% decrease, respectively, while Covestro recorded an increase of 300% with 4 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.66%, down by 6.41% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with an 11.7% share, registered a decline of 8.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.64% share, down 47.37% over July 2021.
