Notably, Management Occupations jobs accounted for a 10% share of the global oil and gas industry’s corporate governance-related total new job postings in Q3 2023, down 28% over the prior quarter.
Management Occupations drive corporate governance-related hiring activity
Management Occupations, with a share of 10%, emerged as the top corporate governance-related job roles within the oil and gas industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 28% quarter-on-quarter. Office and Administrative Support Occupations came in second with a share of 9% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 15% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent corporate governance roles include Business and Financial Operations Occupations with an 8% share in Q3 2023, Architecture and Engineering Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in oil and gas industry accounted for 41% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were State of Alaska, Delek US, Axalta Coating Systems, John Wood Group, and Plains GP Holdings. Together they accounted for a combined share of 41% of all corporate governance-related new jobs in the oil and gas industry.
State of Alaska posted 1,591 corporate governance-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Delek US 372 jobs, Axalta Coating Systems 251 jobs, John Wood Group 242 jobs, and Plains GP Holdings 161 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 45.89% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023
The largest share of corporate governance-related new job postings in the oil and gas industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 45.89% followed by Pitcairn (20.76%) and the UK (4.24%). The share represented by the US was seven percentage points lower than the 53.36% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
