Architecture and Engineering Occupations drive oil and gas hiring activity
Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Architecture and Engineering Occupations, which accounted for 10% of the total new job postings in Q2 2023 and were down by 18% year-on-year. Second highest were Management Occupations, which accounted for 8% and drop by 19% year-on-year, and third highest were Business and Financial Operations Occupations, which were 37% of the new job postings and 30% lower year-on-year.
Top five companies in oil and gas accounted for 38% of hiring activity
The highest number of jobs were posted by Nutrien with 505, followed by PPG Industries with 288, while the highest increase was at Enbridge at 78%.
