Over the five years to 2022, production from the UAE increased by a CAGR of 5% and is expected to rise by a CAGR of 5% between 2023 and 2027.
The largest producers of natural gas in the UAE are Abu Dhabi National Oil, Occidental Petroleum and Government of Sharjah. Abu Dhabi National Oil was the largest producer of natural gas in 2022 with output down by 0.41% on 2021.
Occidental Petroleum was the second-largest producer, with output down by 3%, and Government of Sharjah was third with an increase of 11% on the previous year.
There are six natural gas producing fields in the UAE of which two are located offshore and the rest onshore. The Abu Dhabi has the majority of the natural gas fields in the country with three.
