Argentina’s oil & gas industry registered a 0.8% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.32% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 31.97% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 1.99% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Argentina’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Argentina’s oil & gas industry in September 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.33% in September 2021, registering a 14.29% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 24.44% share, an increase of 57.14% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.11%, registering a 16.67% decline from August 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 11.11%, up 25% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Argentina’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Argentina’s oil & gas industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Exxon Mobil posted 41 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 4.65% over the previous month, followed by Chevron with 3 jobs and a 200% growth. Baker Hughes Holdings with 1 IT jobs, recorded a flat growth.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 80%, down by 2.7% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 15.56% share, registered an increase of 16.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 4.44% share, flat growth over August 2021.
