Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 48.19% in September 2022, a 19.2% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 24.16% in September 2022, marking a 30.41% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 10.64% in September 2022, a 4.94% rise from August 2022.

Top five oil & gas companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 50.95% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Reliance Industries posted 192 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 336.36% over the previous month, followed by Shell with 174 jobs and a flat growth. PI Industries with 83 IT jobs and Koch Industries with 62 jobs, recorded a 14.43% drop and an 82.35% rise, respectively, while Baker Hughes recorded a 130% increase with 46 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with an 80.73% share in September 2022, a 43.33% increase over August 2022. Malaysia featured next with a 4.01% share, down 23.81% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 3.25% share, a drop of 50.94% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.46%, up by 25.3% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.16% share, registered a growth of 2.74% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.13% share, up 14% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.25%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
