US-based company Baker Hughes IT hiring rose 3.5% in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 5.79% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 10.42% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2022, and recorded a 0.84% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Baker Hughes IT hiring in July 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Baker Hughes, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 58.02% in July 2022, and a 17.5% rise over June 2022, while Computer Support Specialists claimed a share of 25.93% in July 2022, and registered growth of 320%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 4.94% in July 2022, a 20% drop from June 2022.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Baker Hughes
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in July 2022 with a 45.68% share, which marked a 19.35% rise over the previous month.
North America stood next with 28.4%, registering a 64.29% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 13.58% share and a 22.22% rise over June 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 9.88% and a month-on-month increase of 60%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 2.47%, registering a 100% rise over the previous month.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 39.51% share in July 2022, a 14.29% growth over June 2022. US featured next with a 25.93% share, up 75% over the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded a 7.41% share, an increase of 200% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Baker Hughes IT hiring activity in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.2%, up by 23.81% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.4% share, a growth of 53.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.41% share, up 100% over June 2022.
