Germany-based company BASF ’s IT hiring rose 2.9% in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 2.33% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 5.16% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2022, and recorded a 0.38% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BASF IT hiring in September 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by BASF, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 41.86% in September 2022, and a 35.71% drop over August 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 20.93% in September 2022, and registered a decline of 30.77%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 16.28% in September 2022, a flat growth from August 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at BASF

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in September 2022 with a 62.79% share, which marked a 22.73% rise over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 20.93%, registering a 68.97% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 16.28% share and a 133.33% rise over August 2022.

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 53.49% share in September 2022, a 4.55% growth over August 2022. Malaysia featured next with an 18.6% share, down 50% over the previous month. US recorded a 16.28% share, an increase of 133.33% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead BASF IT hiring activity in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 79.07%, up by 6.25% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.95% share, a decline of 57.14% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.98% share, down 57.14% over August 2022.
