UK-based company BP’s IT hiring rose 13.9% in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 12.08% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 13.77% share in the company’s total hiring activity in February 2022, and recorded a 1.06% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BP IT hiring in February 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by BP, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 78.26% in February 2022, and a 9.09% rise over January 2022, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 8.7% in February 2022, and registered flat growth. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 6.52% in February 2022, a flat growth from January 2022.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at BP
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in February 2022 with a 60.87% share, which marked a 6.67% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 28.26%, registering an 18.18% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 10.87% share and a 150% rise over January 2022.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 52.17% share in February 2022, a 14.29% decline over January 2022. The UK featured next with a 26.09% share, up 20% over the previous month. US recorded a 10.87% share, an increase of 400% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead BP IT hiring activity in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.04%, up by 70.59% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 30.43% share, a decline of 46.15% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.52% share, flat growth over January 2022.
