UK-based company BP’s IT hiring rose 14.4% in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 4.66% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 19.42% share in the company’s total hiring activity in April 2022, and recorded a 3.62% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BP IT hiring in April 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by BP, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 90.63% in April 2022, and a 107.14% rise over March 2022, while Computer Support Specialists claimed a share of 3.13% in April 2022, and registered flat growth. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 3.13% in April 2022, a 60% drop from March 2022.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at BP

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in April 2022 with a 67.19% share, which marked a 138.89% rise over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 17.19%, registering a 45% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 14.06% share and a 350% rise over March 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.56% and a month-on-month flat growth.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 62.5% share in April 2022, a 207.69% growth over March 2022. US featured next with a 14.06% share, up 350% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 12.5% share, a decline of 50% compared with March 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead BP IT hiring activity in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.25%, up by 38.46% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 42.19% share, a growth of 92.86% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 1.56% share, flat growth over March 2022.
