
Brazil’s oil & gas industry registered a 14.2% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.69% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 16.42% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 2.12% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Brazil’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s oil & gas industry in July 2022.
1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 33.78% in July 2022, registering a 19.15% decline over the previous month.
2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 33.33% share, a decrease of 21.05% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 16.44%, registering an 11.9% decline from June 2022.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 9.33%, down 4.55% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Brazil’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.52% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s oil & gas industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Ecopetrol posted 201 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 13.36% over the previous month, followed by Exxon Mobil with 12 jobs and a 65.71% drop. Equinor with 3 IT jobs and Corteva with 2 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Vibra Energia recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 79.11%, down by 19.82% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 15.11% share, registered a decline of 10.53% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.78% share, down 13.33% over June 2022.
