
Brazil’s oil & gas industry registered a 9.7% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.41% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 14.49% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 3.03% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Brazil’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s oil & gas industry in August 2022.
1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 42.91% in August 2022, registering a 23.26% growth over the previous month.
2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 23.89% share, a decrease of 28.05% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 19.03%, registering a 14.63% rise from July 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7.29%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Brazil’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 5.24% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s oil & gas industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Ecopetrol posted 233 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 3.1% over the previous month, followed by Braskem with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Equinor with 2 IT jobs and PetroRio with 1 jobs, recorded a 33.33% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while TotalEnergies recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.38%, up by 0.5% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 12.96% share, registered a decline of 11.11% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.67% share, flat growth over July 2022.
