
China’s oil & gas industry registered a 14.0% rise in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.41% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.94% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.81% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry in March 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 64.79% in March 2022, registering a 2.22% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 12.68% share, a flat growth over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 9.86%, registering a 40% rise from February 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.86%, up 133.33% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 17.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
Yara International posted 11 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 57.14% over the previous month, followed by Koch Industries with 9 jobs and an 18.18% drop. Exxon Mobil with 9 IT jobs and Henkel AGKGaA with 6 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 14.29% decrease, respectively, while Dow recorded an increase of 50% with 6 job postings during March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.83%, up by 10.87% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.72% share, registered an increase of 75% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.45% share, up 20% over February 2022.
